Where did the time go? + A Giveaway!

Apr 01

In the past week, I celebrated my fortieth birthday, my FIRST wedding anniversary and MrsDay.com’s FIRST anniversary. Life is just so busy that I didn’t get a chance to write anything about these milestones.

My birthday was March 27th. I spent that sunday in church until early afternoon. One of the ladies in church brought me a big gift bag full of presents. I got 4 tops (badly needed, as I’ve lost weight and my wardrobe choices are dwindling), a book on communication in marriage, and a hand soap and lotion set for my bathroom. I really didn’t expect anybody to get me anything, so it was a very pleasant surprise. After church, my husband, mom and I went out to eat at Carino’s, an Italian restaurant that I love. My first choice was Red Lobster (cheesy biscuits, YUM!), but they were WAY too crowded. My momma gave me money.

After dinner, I went to Ulta. Did you know that, on your birthday, you can go there and get your eyebrows done for free at the Benefit counter? Well, I did. Katie at the Monroeville store did a wonderful job on my brows in February, so I made sure to schedule again with her on my birthday. Of course I couldn’t leave without buying something! I got Benefit Brow Zing and a bottle of nail polish in a pretty shade of purple by OPI.

The best thing about my birthday? I came home and…….TOOK A NAP! Ya’ll don’t understand…Sundays are supposed to be my nap days, but between church and teaching Bible Study on Sunday evenings, I rarely get one. It was SO nice to just lay it down with NO interruption!

Celebrating a nap is a sure sign of old age, I think!

I took Monday off, since Mr. Day is off on Mondays. We went to lunch and did a little shopping. He bought me red roses…….I love that man! Then we came home and guess what? TOOK A NAP!!

That’s TWO naps in TWO days! Happy Birthday to me!

Our first wedding anniversary was on March 30th. We didn’t do anything special, since we both had to work. We lovingly acknowledged how happy we are to be married to each other…and that’s enough for me! The best present we got that day was the news that we were the selected applicants for the house we wanted to rent! PRAISE GOD! Hopefully, we’ll be moving in the next two weeks. Finally..some SPACE!

Last, but not least, at this time last year, I started MrsDay.com. Do Something!

Aug 12

I really enjoyed the responses I got from the Who Are you? post.  Besides getting my thoughts out into the blogosphere, meeting and connecting with my readers is my favorite thing about having a site.  So…….

I’m gonna ask you to do something else.

Reading a blog is great. Reading a LOT of blogs can sometimes be difficult. I don’t know how many blogs you read, but I read a lot. If I had to remember to go down my bookmarks list every day, I’d miss something.

So what do I do?

I subscribe to the email feed.

How that works is:  You sign up to receive emails from that particular site whenever there is a post.  That way, you don’t have to remember to go and check that site every day. You only get an email when there is something new to read.

What do you need to do?

See over ——> there? The top right-hand corner where it says “Subscribe Via Email“?  Yeah, right there.  Type in your email address, and hit “Subscribe“.  That’s it. Do that, follow the instructions, and you’ll always know when I’ve posted something new. And I’ll know more about who reads my blog….so I can write more of what you like in the future.

Thank you for reading
